Now you too can enjoy the luxury of gourmet coffee right in your own home. Krups was originally founded in 1846 near Solingen, Germany. Today Krups coffee makers have grown into a global brand well known its constant quest for precision and technical perfection.
There are many models of Krups coffee makers. Here we have listed the most popular Krups coffee makers so you can decide which best suits your coffee needs.
Krups KM7000 Grind-and-Brew 10-Cup Coffeemaker
This 1000-watt programmable coffeemaker brews up to 10 cups of coffee but if you want to make smaller amounts it was a 2 to 3 cup aroma function. The Krups KM7000 has 5 grind levels, 3 coffee-strength settings, brew pause and digital settings. Although the hinges on the water canister are plastic, they seem sturdy. This coffee maker is very easy to program and use. The grinder is surprisingly quiet. What is great is how this coffee maker allows the coffee to fall into the basket without going into the water reservoir. It really makes the best cups of coffee I have had in a long time! You really can program the strength of the coffee – it’s not a sales gimmick. It doesn’t store that much coffee – you’ll probably have to purchase another coffee canister.
Krups FMF511 10-Cup Programmable Coffeemaker with Thermal Carafe
This coffee maker has a thermal stainless steel carafe and can brew up to 10 cups of coffee. It is 100% programmable and has a 60 ounce water reservoir. Many have commented on its poor quality in comparison to its price. They say the Krups FMF511 coffee maker leaks extremely badly and the strong smell of plastic overwhelmed the aroma of the coffee. Another complaint is that despite the thermal carafe the coffee doesn’t remain hot and cools far too quickly. It’s also not the most user friendly coffee maker. Unfortunately many of its features do not appear to work. Best to save you money and invest in a different Krups coffee maker.
Krups Digital Coffee Maker KR XP2070
The Krups XP2070 can brew regular drip coffee and espresso, cappuccinos and other speciality drinks. It has stainless steel parts and a digital control panel. Compared to other pump modes it does take up that much more space. Even though it has so many functions it is easy to use. The drip coffee and espresso functions are each controlled separately and you cannot run both at once. The espresso made is really good and maintains consistent flavour. It’s a bit noisy after the steam function has been used and the coffee maker is purging off excess steam. You also cannot tell when the water tank needs refilling. Overall recommended.
Krups DuoThek 324 Coffee Maker
The Krups duo thek 324 has innovative design which may lull you into a false sense of security. Unfortunately both the water dispensers leak while the pot is being filled. Also the lids covering the filter are not designed to last. There is no timer on this machine. The stainless steel carafe is double walled to ensure your coffee stays hot. You can brew as little as one 5 cup pot or as much as 2 20 cup pots. Produces nice coffee that is not bitter. No water residual is left in the system once the brewing is complete. Mixed feelings about this Krups coffee maker.
